Flowplayer Native is the lightest and most flexible HTML 5 video player on the web today. You can see why this would be problematic and a bad user experience. Every time a user clicks 'next' to the next video, the controls come up on the screen, blocking most of the video for 2 seconds - which is around 10-20% of the entire video. You can click 'next' to the next video in the 'reel'. It also has a slideshow type navigation experience. As part of this update, IBM Watson Media is expanding its adaptive streaming offering with more options, each of which is automatically transcoded with H.264 and AAC (read more on adaptive streaming). The website in question hosts very short videos, typically 5-10 seconds long. In order to playback HTML5 content, it requires that the video content be broadcasted with H.264 as the video codec and AAC as the audio codec. ![]() These controls do disappear after a couple of seconds, but it does lessen the user experience.
